New Year’s Goals
January 12, 2017Winter Exercise
January 17, 2017For many people, this will be a long weekend. Monday is Martin Luther King Day. (For many of us in DC, next week is a short week — we are off for Inauguration Day.)
It's a winter weekend, so the weather may not be conducive to travel or outdoor activities. So here are some ideas of things to keep you occupied:
- Put away the Christmas decorations and all Christmas presents. Write any thank yous you haven't sent yet.
- Rearrange the living room.
- Watch everything on your DVR.
- Read.
- Work on a craft project.
- If weather permits, go for a walk.
- Invite some friends over for a simple soup or spaghetti dinner.
- Clean a closet.
- Purge the files of now outdated materials and make new files for 2017.
- Start gathering material for your taxes.
- Do some mending.
- Set up a household budget.
- Write a letter.
- Organize some photos.
- Clear out some old computer or email files.
I'll be working on a writing project, attending a party, and getting my house ready for a massive influx of guests next week!
