Valentine’s Day
February 10, 2014Think Spring (and Summer)
February 14, 2014I love the Olympics. I have ever since I was a little girl. But, let's face it. There's a lot of Olympics to watch. This year, the various networks are offering hundreds of hours of action — and that doesn't count what's available online and on demand. So, how do you use your time well while indulging in the Olympics?
- Yarn crafts like knitting and crocheting go well with tv watching. As long as the pattern isn't too complicated, you can make progress on your project while counting the revolutions in the 1260 back japans (and, no, I have no idea of what that means, but one of the snowboarders said it.)
- Do repetitive chores like folding laundry, ironing, or polishing silver (you can pretend it's your medal).
- Do your mending.
- Sort documents for filing. Use the commercial breaks to shred things you can discard.
- Catch up on old magazines. Many magazine stories are easily read during the commercial breaks or during the features that suck up way too much time.
- Use the commercials as workout time. Make a short circuit such as sit-ups, push-ups, squats, and back raises. Do each exercise for the length of a commercial and then move to the next. Each time the commercials start, it's exercise time!
How will you use your time during the Olympics?
