July 19, 2013People vacation in different ways. Knowing your vacation styles — and those of your traveling companions – can help to avoid arguments and difficulties.
Some people (like me) prefer vacations packed with activity and adventure, seeing all the sites and trying new things. Personally, I don't need to have a firm unwavering schedule (I like to take advantage of opportunities that appear and to adapt for weather and other conditions), but I don't like to leave blocs of empty time just sitting around.
Other people love vacations consisting of unscheduled time to lie on the beach, walk in the mountains, or rest in a hammock. The only planning they want to do is picking a few good restaurants and gathering a stack of good books.
Some folks like someone else to make their plans and organize everything. Others like to be in control of their own schedules. Some folks like to be surrounded by luxury. Others like to keep things simple, perhaps to spend their vacation money on adventures or to travel farther or to stay longer. Some folks want to see the tourist attractions. Others prefer to go off the beaten track.
What's your vacation style?
