Holiday Preparation
September 18, 2015Set a Timer
September 23, 2015Over the last few months, I've been experimenting with various ways to organize my daily work.
One thing that has been somewhat successful is a method I call "three things." It's just what it sounds like: you simplify identify three tasks you need to complete each day. Once those tasks are done, the rest of the day is yours,
This method can be used at work or at home.
The challenge is in selecting each day's tasks. You need to be able to accomplish them in the time available, but they shouldn't be so easy that you finish in less than an hour. If you balance tasks across the week, you can assign some easy/quick tasks and a more challenging tasks to each day.
By limiting yourself to three tasks, you prevent overscheduling. By limiting what you hope to accomplish, you don't dissipate your energy. You can make small, but identifiable progress each day.
Give it a try. It might work for you.
