If you haven't made your travel plans yet, stop reading this RIGHT NOW and do it.

If you are hosting, now is a very good time to search out your serving pieces, china, table linens, and silver. Perhaps you can even give the silver a bit of a polish while watching football or Dancing with the Stars.

Also, extend invitations to dinner so you'll have some idea of how many people you'll have. If you need to borrow things (like extra chairs), ask now.

While, for most of us, the Thanksgiving menu is pretty straightforward, start making final decisions and gathering recipes. I often change up the type of stuffing I make or swap in different side dishes or dessert. Those are the sort of decisions you want to make soon. I'll post my menu once it's decided.
