Why Dealing with Clutter Matters
October 13, 2015Christmas Countdown – 10 Weeks
October 15, 2015Thanksgiving is six weeks from tomorrow! That means it's time to plan.
•Keep clearing space in your freezer and refrigerator. You're going to need it.
•Keep de-cluttering your house a bit each day.
•Purchase any serving ware or table linens you might need. Shopping now may mean you won't get the best sales, but you'll get the best selection. Remember, try to avoid holiday themed serving ware that will take up lots of space and have limited use.
•If you are hosting, schedule the big tasks: the "big" clean (either by yourself or by a hired service), grocery shopping, table-setting and decor, cooking. If at all humanly possible, avoid grocery shopping the weekend before. The stores will be demolition derby with carts.
•Finalize your Thanksgiving dinner menu. To make life easier. plan menus for Wednesday dinner, Thursday and Friday breakfast, and Friday dinner. (I assume Friday lunch will be leftovers.) You want to make sure that your other meals won't conflict with your oven and stove needs and, after the Thursday cooking marathon, you aren't going to be in menu decision mode on Friday. I'll post some menus ideas next week.
• If you are traveling and you haven't bought your tickets yet, stop reading this blog and buy them now.
