November 7, 2008Thanksgiving is just three weeks away. If you are hosting, you have some work to do:
- Finalize your menu and develop a shopping list. You'll want to pick up everything except perishables this week. The week before Thanksgiving is a zoo in grocery stores, so you'll want to minimize your time there.
- If necessary, polish your silver and iron table linens. A great, wrinkle-free way to store linens is to roll them on PVC tubing or an old wrapping paper roll. Cover with a garbage bag and forget until the day before Thanksgiving.
- Finalize your guest list.
- If you'll be having overnight guests, start cleaning the guest room. If you're like me, it can become a storage area.
- Start clearing room in your refrigerator and freezer. You'll need it to brine your turkey, to store food during preparation stage, and to store leftovers.
