Fasting for Immigrants and Refugees – Week 6
April 6, 2017Easter Foods
April 12, 2017This year, we get a few extra days to finish filing our taxes. Instead of April 15th, we get until April 18th to file this year.
If you've already filed, good for you! Check back here next week for some advice on making filing easier.
If you haven't filed yet, immediately go to your calendar and block out a few hours to do your preparation. If you have to gather the supporting documentation (your W-2s, 1099s, charity receipts, etc.), you'll need to schedule a few hours for that as well.
Yes, you can e-file up until the last minute, but you don't want to rely on that. I e-filed successfully last year, but this year, the system wouldn't accept my return. That means I had to print my return and mail it in. That's not a discovery you want to make at 11:58 p.m. on April 18th.
So, get off the computer and get to work!
