Aperitivo
June 26, 2019Third Quarter
July 1, 2019Come now. You didn’t think you’d escape my series on summer without a to-do list!
Yes, you should relax and enjoy the outdoors, but there are some tasks you need to take care of in the summer:
- Take care of exterior home and yard maintenance. It’s way easier to paint, landscape, and install new features in the summer than when it’s snowing.
- Speaking of snow, now is a great time to have furnaces and chimneys cleaned and inspected.
- It’ also a great time to take large washable things outdoors and get them with the hose. (Bonus points if the kids get caught in the spray.)
- Summer is great time to clean out the basemen, garage, and/or shed. These spaces are way easier to sort out when you can spread things through the yard. On the other hand, it’s the wrong time to clean the attic. Hot air rises and most attics are stifling.
- Summer is a good time to do interior repairs and renovations. If you start now, you are likely to be done before the holidays. And if you are painting, it’s much nicer to do that when you can have the windows open.
- A rainy day is a great time to update the family calendar and shred old files.
What’s on your honey-do list?
