Kids and Summer – Part 3
June 17, 2010Christmas Countdown – Six Months
June 24, 2010Yesterday was the summer solstice — the longest day of the year and the official beginning to summer.
It makes me think about what I want to accomplish this summer. With the longer days and the less intense scheduling, it's anm opportunity to address big projects (like re-organizing my files and cleaning out drawers and closets) and to establish new routines.
In the past few months, I've established a pretty good routine for exercise. (The longer days really help with that since I was able to go out for a run at 8 pm last night!) I'm hoping to establish some other good routines that might carry over into the rest of the year:
- Divide household chores and errands so that doing a little bit each day keeps things in order.
- Plan meals for a week at a time so that healthy and tasty options are always available.
- Plan clothing options so that getting dressed in the morning is a no-brainer.
Getting into these habits now will make the transition to fall much smoother.
