July 4th is the unofficial halfway point of summer. (Yes, I know that meteorological summer began on June 21 and won't end until late September. But for non-meteorologists, it starts on Memorial Day and goes to Labor Day.)

As usual, I missed the first half of summer. I was on the road for work fully half of June. On the days I was in town, I was trying to get ahead or caught up at work or I was packing or unpacking.

To be frank, the rest of the summer looks pretty busy too. But I will try to move at a somewhat slower pace. Maybe I can grill dinner on occasion or spend more time in the hammock.

But I also realize that I have a big deadline and a ton of chores to complete in between the 3 scheduled trips.

Sigh.
