Summer is a wonderful time for entertaining.  It is particularly well-suited to casual entertainments such as gathering friends and neighbors for a cookout or a Friday happy hour or planning a picnic to a park.

A impromptu gatering can happen at any time.  If you are looking for an event, consider these:

• The traditional Fourth of July party.  A cookout, perhaps some games, maybe a view of the fireworks.  What more do you need?
• A World Cup Final viewing party:  Think a Super Bowl party, but international.  We don't know who the competitors will be yet, but their countries ar likely to have good food!
• A Bastille Day party:  Really, just an excuse to eat French food!
• A First Fruits party:  If you have a garden, celebrate your produce
