Scheduling Tips
March 20, 2015Humility and Gratitude
March 25, 2015The vernal equinox was last Friday. That means two things: until late June, the hours of daylight are longer than the hours of darkness and spring is here.
It's often hard to tell that it is spring. Some parts of the country woke up to snow this morning. My dog had to wear her sweater on our VERY brisk morning walk. But the tide has turned and warmer days and blooming flowers are on their way (at least that's what my allergies say!)
So, let's start think about spring in the happiest way possible: Spring Entertaining. Spring is great time to entertain because of the naturally celebratory events and the fact that people want to get out of their homes after a long winter!
Here are some opportunities for entertaining:
- On warm sunny days, a picnic is always lovely. Gather a few friends, a blanket, and pick up some pre-made food at a grocery store and head out to enjoy! Low stress and fun.
- Invite friends over for Easter brunch or Passover seder.
- Have a Mother's Day party.
- Spring is a great time for bridal showers and graduation parties (baby showers too if the babies cooperate!)
- Celebrate May Day (Labor Day in much of the world or Beltane).
- Fire up the grill or the fire pit for a small group of friends.
- Gather neighbors for a community clean-up or community garden planting followed by a potluck.
- Start planning a Memorial Day cookout to kick off the summer.
- Have a ladies' tea or a garden party.
What will you celebrate?
