The Importance of Being Flexible
April 21, 2011Wedding Breakfast
April 26, 2011As should be fairly obvious from this blog, I like good food — a lot. I also like cooking. Having access to good ingredients is important to me.
One of the things I recommend is finding multiple sources for good ingredients. Take a few moments to stop in little ethnic groceries and to scope out local farmers' markets. You might be amazed at what you'll find. I buy most of my produce at an ethnic grocery. The prices and the quality are much better. And I can't even describe the variety! Wonderfully tasty sundried tomatoes — for $1.50 a pound. Dried chiles I have never even heard of. Six kinds of squash and 5 kinds of mushrooms every day!
Knowing where to go to buy the special ingredients you want can make you a better cook and a better host!
