Of course, when the snow gives you an unexpected day off (and you have power), you can use the time to be productive and get ahead of the game. Here are some things you might do:

• Clean and reorganize a kitchen cabinet or two.  Discard outdated food and set aside what you'd like to donate to a food back.  For utensil cabinets, take out what you don't use and donate it.
• Clean a closet or drawer.
• Get out the sewing machine and catch up on your mending.
• Make casseroles and stews and freeze them for nights when you need a quick meal.
• Prune your personal files (shred anything senstive before you discard it) and gather the records you'll need for your taxes.
