Some Opportunities for Entertaining
February 20, 2008Reviewing Your Resolutions
February 22, 2008The forecasters are calling for snow and ice here in DC, so it’s possible that I won’t be able to get to work tomorrow.
That means preparing tonight for the possibility that movement will be limited for the next day or so.
First, I deal with safety. I make sure that my snow shovel and ice melt are handy. I recharge my cell phone and my laptop batteries in case power goes out. I make sure I have sweaters, blankets, and firewood available. I gather candles and battery operated flashlights and radios.
Second, I attend to food. I make sure I have comfort foods and things I can eat without cooking, just in case. I also like to make sure I have hot chocolate. Because what’s better than hot chocolate on a cold day?
Third, I make sure I have something to keep me occupied. For tomorrow, I’ve brought home some work to finish. I have crafts to work on. I can do my taxes. I have laundry to do. I have 3 new DVDs to watch and 4 books to read. I think I’m good ’til June.
Happy Snow Day!
