Back to School Shopping
July 28, 2008Great Money-Saving Opportunity
August 14, 2008I know that the calendar says that summer goes through mid-September, but for most of us, it really comes to an end with Labor Day. (If kids go back to school before that, it seems to end even earlier.)
That means that we're in the last few lazy weeks of summer. I don't know about you, but I feel like my summer never got started. I've had a larger than usual amount of travel and visitors and several large projects have consumed the little spare time left over. At the same time, I can't face a busy autumn without a little bit of rest.
So here's my plan:
- As of today, I take on no new tasks unless they are not due until late September/early October.
- I am cancelling any travel which isn't absoultely necessary.
- I am dedicating this weekend to "catch-up", including errands and housecleaning.
- I will set apart a small space in my living room for entertaining crafts, DVDs, and magazines and books I want to read.
- I will keep a pitcher of herbal iced tea or lemonade in the fridge at all times.
- At least twice each week between now and Labor Day, I will do something to pamper myself.
- The lovely scented candles will make their reappearance in my living room this weekend.
Hopefully, this plan will help me clear away the clutter and relax my way through the last few days of summer.
