Simple Food
June 5, 2008Summer Entertaining
June 9, 2008So, you've simplified your house and your meals, all that's left to simplify is you!
Try to focus on developing some good healthy habits this summer. Often, the best things you can do are the simple (but not easy) things:
- It's easy to dehydrate in the summer heat. Drink extra water. You can even carry a refillable bottle around with you. Remember, by the time your body realizes that it's thirsty, you are already dehydrated.
- Remember sunscreen and moisturizer. Keep your skin young-looking and, more importantly, cancer free.
- Wear sunglasses outside to protect your eyes from the glare and to keep from squinting into the sun. (It causes wrinkles.) I buy the cheap ones because I lose or break a few pair each summer.
- Take advantage of the good weather to get outside and move. Go for a walk, a swim, a bike ride, whatever — just move!
- Try to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night.
- Take advantage of laid-back summer schedules to catch up on routine medical and dantal appointments.
- Relax and enjoy!
