August 19, 2016I've been traveling most of the last 13 days. I wish I could tell you that I'd been in the islands learning to sail or taking a cooking class in Paris or even just resting at a spa. But that wouldn't be true. I was traveling for business — 4 meetings in 2 locations.
Now, the meetings were very productive and I got to see some people whose company I really enjoy. Plus, I used my time on planes and trains to get some reading finished.
But I still need to recover. I don't tend to sleep well in unknown beds — especially when they are narrow dorm beds. Plus, travel disrupts my routine. It can make it extra challenging to exercise since I don't have equipment. It's more difficult to eat wisely when you are eating out at every meal. Plus, when you get home, you need to deal with the mail that's built up, unpack, do laundry, replenish the fridge — and then do all the work that piled up on your desk while you were gone.
Hopefully, I can use the next two days to try to get back into my usual rhythm so that I'll be able to be productive and enjoy the two weeks before I travel again — this time for fun!
