Letters
May 28, 2013Resolutions
May 31, 2013The weather this spring has been crazy. Here in DC, I've gone from needing to turn on the heat one day to wearing a sundress or shorts the next. We've also had some major thunderstorms and lots of gloomy days.
During the summer months, I spend as much time outside as I can — running, walking, grilling, or just lazing in the hammock with my dog and a good book. But still, it's not a bad idea to take a few minutes oover the next few days to make a list of things you can do on rainy days when playing outside isn't an option. Having a list handy can prevent time-wasting dithering on a rainy day.
Here are some things that might make your list:
- Organizing a photo album (or uploading and tagging photos).
- Making and freezing cookie dough.
- Reading through that stack of magazines you've been meaning to read.
- Writing letters (see yesterday's blog post).
- Doing your mending (I, for one, have a real need to darn socks).
- Doing some online Christmas shopping.
- Purging files.
- Working on a craft project.
- Making homemade broth that you can freeze for fall soups.
- Watch your old movies.
What do you like to do on a rainy summer day?
