Christmas Countdown – Three Months
September 24, 2015End of the Third Quarter
September 30, 2015Fall is definitely here (despite the fact that it's rather hot and muggy here today). It's time to get your yard ready for winter.
- If you have outdoor furniture, you need to clean and store it before winter sets in. You may want to use it on some lovely fall weekends, but you should schedule time to clean the furniture thoroughly before storing it. Some larger pieces of furniture may stay outside, but it should be covered if possible. Anything fabric (cushions, umbrellas, etc.) should be stored indoors.
- If you have a grill, give it a good cleaning before the end of the season. Even if you grill during the winter, a good cleaning is not wasted.
- Store away outdoor accessories and sporting equipment.
- Any water element (pool, hot tub, birdbath, fountain, etc.) should be winterized according to manufacturer/installer instructions.
- Give your flower beds and garden any necessary attention.
- Find your rakes, shovels, and salt so that you are ready for harsh weather.
- As needed, replace screens with winter windows.
