Christmas Countdown 3
November 12, 2007The Thanksgiving Gathering
November 14, 2007As the days grow shorter and the nights grow colder, it’s especially important to take good care of yourself. After all, you want to be healthy and well for the holidays. And you want to look your best.
As hectic as this time of year can be, try to get 7-8 hours of sleep at night (visions of sugar plums dancing in your head count as holiday preparation). Also, fruits and vegetables are your friends.
Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean that the sun is no longer an issue. Sunscreen, on its own or in a moisturizer, is essential. I find that the winter sun is often very intense , especially when it’s reflecting off the frost and snow. I keep sunglasses handy year round to protect my vision and to limit the squinting that causes lines.
Between the cold air and dry central heat, your skin can lose its moisture at an astonishing rate. Plus, antibacterial gels that you might (should!) be using to limit the spread of colds tend to contain alcohol which is drying to the skin. Moisturizer and lip balm should go on before you go out — every day.
