How Do You Use Your Commute?
July 28, 2011Working in Transit
August 1, 2011I was digging about in my freezer last night. (Ok, I'll admit it — I bought ice cream and was trying to find a place for it.) I realized that I have lots of stuff in there that I wasn't even aware I had. I have a farm's worth of frozen vegetables and more sorbet than any one person needs. Looking in the cabinets tells me I have lots of stuff in there as well.
This weekend might be a good time to take stock of what's in your pantry and freezer. For the next few weeks, try to plan meals that will use up at least the older things. If you aren't going to use it, and it's non-perishable, donate it to a food pantry. They are hurting.
And once you have the extras cleared out and made space, you can pantry in a more intentional way — and be ready for holiday cooking!
