This weekend is the unofficial start of summer in the US. (I know that "official" summer doesn't start until mid-June, but for all practical purposes, summer in the US is Memorial Day to Labor Day.)

Start your summer off right:

• Have some friends over for a cookout.
• Attend a community event (like a parade or outdoor concert).
• Visit a farmers' market to get some fresh fruits and veggies.
• Visit a local ice cream place for a fresh dipped cone. Or better yet, make your own ice cream.
• Open all the windows and let the fresh air in.
• Get outside!

Then come back next week and tell me what you did! My plans:

I'm hoping for some quite time to read and craft a bit.

I'm celebrating a friend's birthday.

I'll likely take in a movie.

I'm having a friend over for a cookout.

But this afternoon, there's a hammock and a cold beer calling my name!
