You may have noticed that there are lots of special events this time of year. Now, I know that we are all very busy with our own holiday preparations and celebrations, but, if at all possible, try to take advantage of at least one special Christmas event this season. (Keep in mind that December 25th only begins the Christmas season. There's still time after that!)

• Go to a Christmas concert given by a church or community group.
• Visit a special light display. (Here in Washington, DC, the zoo is beautifully lit and free!)
• Go to a theatrical version of A Christmas Carol, see the Nutcracker, or attend a Messiah sing-along.
• Wander through a Christmas market with a warm beverage.
• Visit a holiday display at a museum.

It may seem impossible to add one.more.thing. But isn't celebrating the point of the season? Focus less on the externals and get out to share the joy!
