The Fourth of July
July 4, 2018Summer Cooking
July 11, 2018If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I often share my struggles with my readers. One of the things I’m struggling with is finding more time to rest.
Oddly, it’s not just work that’s wearing me down. I’m also struggling with doing too much with my time off. There are just so many fun things to do: plays to see, theme parks to visit, parties to attend, etc. Even my vacations tend to be overscheduled. (For example, in September I’ll be going to Disney World. I’ll be looking at 13+ hour days filled with rides, shows, and food.) What I’m not good at is doing nothing. You are unlikely to find me just lying on a beach doing nothing.
But the problem is that I get home from vacation at least as tired as I was when I left. I’m trying to find a way to renew and re-energize. I know I can’t keep burning the candle at both ends, but I haven’t been successful in finding a way to slow down.
I’m open to suggestions.
