June 14, 2011As many readers know, I am a runner and I work out with a trainer regularly. I hate working out. But I know that exercise is important to my health, so I keep doing it.
Of course, that doesn't mean that I WANT to exercise. I will find every excuse in the book to avoid it. So, I've instituted the 5 excuse rule. When I get to the fifth excuse as to why I can't work out, I MUST work out. Face it, if you get to 5, you're making excuses. If you have a good reason (you're on a plane from 6 am to 10 pm, you're ill, etc.), one is enough.
Of course, tonight I'll have a lovely run since the weather here has finally broken so that running outside will be a joy.
