Meal Planning Tips
March 27, 2015Ritual
April 1, 2015Today ends the first quarter of 2015. (Personally, I have no idea where March went!) That makes it an especially good time to do a quick check-in on your new year's resolutions.
Go find your list and honestly assess your progress. Where are you being successful? Where are you falling behind? Where should you focus your attention in the next quarter?
I've taken a good look at my resolutions and I'm doing pretty well on two of them. Under frugal, I have been pretty good about keeping to my savings goal – though I did take quite a hit with some unexpected expenses — replacing my furnace, the doubled fuel bills due to the old furnace's inefficiency, the need to replace a crown (which the insurance company has, thus far, refused to pay). It's certainly made things a bit tighter than I'd like, but I'm staying the course thus far.
Under focused, I'm doing even better. I'm making good progress on cleaning and de-cluttering my house. I'm keeping on the dishes and papers and laundry. I'm clearing several "meaning tos" each month. I've made good progress on some bigger projects. I have a few big months ahead with substantial projects on my list, but we'll see how it goes. On the down side, I've done no crafting so far this year. I really miss it, but there are just too many projects on the to-do list right now. I also need to do better on the weekly tidying and regular filing.
My fitness resolution has been the real disappointment. I'm not working out regularly and I'm not losing weight. I'm just not putting in the work. That needs to be my emphasis this spring. Hopefully, my upcoming races will help me stay disciplined.
How are you doing?
On the downside, I haven't attacked any old craft projects. My weight loss efforts haven't been at all successful. My closets and cabinets are still a mess. I have some legal and financial tasks that I haven't addressed. I have some new recipes I want to try and some places I want to visit.
So, I still have a good bit to achieve in 2014, but I'm on my way. How about you?
