Happiness is …
October 29, 2007Thanksgiving Alert
October 30, 2007Tomorrow is Halloween. Take some time tonight to ensure that things will run smoothly.
- Do a safety inventory of your children’s costumes. Make sure that they will stay warm, dry, and visible as they trick-or-treat.
- Double-check any decorations you have up. Replace burned-out light bulbs and make sure everything is at its best for the visitors.
- Make sure your porch light works so that trick-or-treaters will know that you are home.
- Set aside a place close to the door for the candy. If you haven’t already bought candy, pick some up tonight to avoid being caught in the last-minute lines tomorrow evening. You may want to have some change at hand in case kids come trick-or-treating for UNICEF.
- If you have a pet, decide where it will stay while you are answering the door. The constant doorbells and the presence of strangers can frighten a pet, causing it to run out the open door. It’s best to keep all pets close on Halloween.
- Decide what you’ll serve for dinner tomorrow night so that your focus will be on the kids. If you aren’t doing dinner in a pumpkin, consider ordering a pizza for delivery or pick-up on your way home. Paired with a salad, it’s not too unhealthy and you want to get something in the kids’ stomachs before all the candy!
- Finally, remember to have fun. If it’s not fun, there’s no point.
