Weird Weather
February 20, 2017Oscar Fashion Roundup 2017
February 27, 2017As I mentioned last week, I attended a family wedding last weekend. It was an awesome time. The newlywed couple was lovely and in love. Every element of the event was beautifully prepared.
But the best part of the weekend was getting a chance to spend time with family members that I don't get to see very often. Nowadays, it's not at all unusual for families to spread out across the country. (For example, attendees at the wedding last weekend came from more than 20 states!) That diaspora makes it difficult for families to get together often. All too often, we only get to see each other at weddings and funerals. Christmas cards make a once-a-year contact. Facebook lets us keep up with the basics — at least the posted basics.
But as much as I love social media, it doesn't really allow for the kind of contact that sustains a familial relationship.
So that got me thinking, how do families today keep in contact? Do you call each other? Facetime? Visit? Vacation together?
What works for you?
