One of the things I like best about Fall is that there are so many great reasons to entertain and celebrate – even before Thanksgiving begins "the holiday season."

On the religious side, there's Rosh Hashanah and the break of the Yom Kippur fast for Jews, Eid al Fitr (the end of ramadan) for Muslims, and El Dia de los Muertos for Christians.  There's also Halloween (Samhain), Oktoberfest, Election Day, and harvest that can be celebrated. 

Pick one (or more!) and plan an event.  It can be as simple as snacks while watching the election results roll in to as elaorate as a haunted house for Halloween.
