You read that right.  Christmas Eve is four weeks from today.  Thanksgiving is very late this year, so the time between Christmas and Thanksgiving is exceptionally short.

Of course, that means that, once you finish your Thanksgiving celebration, you need to kick preparations into high gear.

• You need to have about a third of your shopping done by next Wednesday.  Everything that needs to be shipped must be bought.
• Most of your cards should be written.  You want them in the mail by December 10.
• Begin buying your baking supplies.
• Consider beginning your decorations.  You can do your decorations in stages — putting up the tree, then later adding the lights, and later the ornaments.
• Finalize your party plans.

Just keep things moving forward and you'll be ready on time.
