Business Travel 1: Before the Trip
March 6, 2008Business Travel 3: After the Trip
March 7, 2008In this post, I’ll pass on some of my favorite tips for during a business trip:
- Leave yourself way more time than you expect you’ll need to get to the airport. Rushing will generate stress that you don’t need.
- Make sure that you follow the TSA guidelines for your carry-on bags. Otherwise, you could lose things you need.
- If you will be flying through a meal time, buy something in the airport before you board. That will give you more choices and healthier choices. The food for purchase on airplanes tends to be highly processed and full of bad things.
- Treat your flight as an opportunity to separate from your electronics. Read a book. Do needlepoint. Crochet a scarf. Write some letters.
- If your trip takes you to a differenty time zone, consider taking a small alarm clock that you leave set to your home time. If you need to call home, you’ll know what time it is without doing the math.
- If possible, maintain your exercise routine. This is one reason I love yoga. You can do it in a hotel room.
- Consider room service for the occasional meal. When you are with people all day, some time alone is a nice break.
- Increase your water consumption and your moisturizing throughout your trip.
