Elf Learns a New Skill
October 14, 2007I’m back!
October 22, 2007I arrived in New York City today for a series of business meetings. I’m staying in the theatre district, near Radio City Music Hall, Times Square, and Rockefeller Center.
New York and Christmas are inextricably intertwined in my mind. When I was a little elf, my mom and dad brought my sisters and me to New York in December of every year. We’d see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. That was back in the days that the show was preceded by a movie and you could stay as long as you wanted once you had a seat. You could watch the show or movie two or three times if you wanted.
After the show, we’d watch the skaters and marvel at the tree in Rockefeller Center, stroll down Fifth Avenue admiring the window displays, and go to Mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. To this day, the smell of roasting chestnuts says "Christmas" to me
While I’m here, I’ll try to visit some of my favorite stores and I’ll talk about combining business and shopping.
And don’t worry, we’ll talk more about entertaining. I promise.
