Take a few minutes today to decide what, if any, shopping you will do on the day after Christmas.

I try to minimize my time in the stores on that day since they tend to be extremely busy.  I go only to my favorite craft store since they typically have a 25% off the store sale.  I buy my supplies for all my crafting for the first part of the new year — and for all the Christmas crafts on my "next year" list.

If you are looking for a specific decoration, you may want to shop on the 26th.  Otherwise, things may get picked over. and you’ll lose your chance.  For more general Christmas leftover shopping, I’ve found that the selwction is decent up to New Year’s and the discounts keep climbing.

If you have things to return, check the receipts or the store’s policy.  You will have less of a crowd and you may have more of a choice if you wait a week or so.

Shopping just because everyone else is can often lead you to buying things you don’t want.  So instead, just stay home and continue your celebration.
