My Need For Lists
October 16, 2017Rest
October 20, 2017If you've been reading this blog for more than 5 minutes, you know that I like to have everything planned and in order. (I make maps to plot my course through theme parks.)
But despite my (over)emphasis on planning, I do see the importance of being flexible and changing things as needed.
Almost since the beginning of this blog, I've lauded the brilliance of the Friday Tidy. I still believe that it's an effective way to keep your house in order, limit stress, and still enjoy the weekend. But what I've discovered lately is that, by the time I get home from work on Friday, I'm often too tired to even think about undertaking the Friday Tidy. Sometimes, even cooking dinner seems too much. On more than a few Friday evenings, I've had a bowl of cereal and gone to bed by 9 p.m.
That's where flexibility comes in. I'm playing with the possibility of moving my Friday Tidy to Thursday evening or even Friday morning. (After all, if insomnia has me awake at 5:30 a.m., I might as well use the time.)
A big part of wise planning is making good use of the resources available. My time and energy are my most precious resources. It only stands to reason that I'd look for ways to use them well.
