Climbing the Mountain of Work – Part 3
April 22, 2016My Issues with the “Lifestyle” Industry
April 29, 2016This article is everything I hate about the "lifestyle" industry. Reading things like this discourage people from inviting their friends for a simple meal or just some time spent together.
Most people who entertain don't have parties like this. They don't rent furniture and cutlery and hire florists and caterers and musicians and prepare carefully sourced and constructed favors.
And, guess what? It's not what most guests want anyway.
I'm having several people over next Sunday. I'll grill hot dogs hamburgers and veggie burgers. I'll make two simple salads (and that only because Costco seems to have stopped distributing the fabulous potato salad they used to carry). I'll bake a pan of brownies. Pull out a jar or two of the pickles I canned last year.
Very simple. But we'll have a lovely meal and get to spend time together.
That's the point. Not getting photos of your party in a magazine.
on the other hand, the advice about about posting rules is very helpful. Why does it need to be wrapped up in unrealistic expectations?
