Now that spring seems to have arrived to stay (when I was still wearing mittens in April, I was beginning to wonder), we will begin to live more of our lives outdoors.
A first step in this process is to bring the outdoors in. Here are some things you might try:
Open the windows whenever you are at home during daylight hours. It’s amazing how fresh air can change the way a room feels. A gentle breeze will blow the stuffiness out of your house and get you ready for summer.
If you don’t have houseplants, consider starting some herb seedlings (available at nurseries or garden centers). Not only will these living things brighten your windowsills, but once the herbs grow a bit, they will add freshness and flavor to your summer cooking.
Treat yourself by buying flowers for your home and/or office.
